Just your run of the mill 1082kW road car…

The American monster known as the Hennessey Venom GT has battled Bugatti and Koenigsegg amongst others for the title of the world’s fastest production car. The latest incarnation may have trumped them all.

Certain car manufacturers have long fought over the title for the world’s fastest production car; however the battle has recently whittled down to the Bugatti Veyron VS the Hennessey Venom GT.

That battle may have just been won with the introduction of the ridiculously powerful 2016 Hennessey Venom GT.

If a mere 926kW wasn’t enough for you, start salivating now because Hennessey have somehow managed to jam another 156kW into the stretched out Lotus Exige body for a total output of 1082kW.

According to Hennessy, this speed demon weighs in at only 1244kg and it will hit 400km/h in just 18.1 seconds-if you can find a test track long enough for that kind of speed.

This enormous gain in power has been achieved by giving the engine “the ability to run E85 Flexfuel which allows its 7.0L twin turbo V-8 engine to increase boost pressure from 19 psi to 26 psi” according to the Hennessey website.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires will keep the Venom on the road via a GPS-based traction control system.

“Being the fastest matters”, said company founder and president, John Hennessey.  “We are intent on keeping the Venom as the fastest, best performing and most exciting hypercar on the road”.

A limited edition run of the Venom GT “World’s Fastest Edition” will be produced to commemorate Hennessey’s top speed run of an incredible 435km/hr at the Kennedy Space Centre shuttle runway.

And Hennessey have unveiled a 2144kW model at the 2015 SEMA Show.  Just think about that.
