  • Are there any on-road costs included in the prize?

    The first prize includes all on-road costs and third party insurance, however all prizes are to be picked up from Brisbane.

  • How many performance vehicles are in the lottery each year?

    There are six Mater Cars for Cancer lotteries each year. Each lottery gives you the chance to win your choice of one of the performance vehicles offered in that lottery. Per lottery there are generally two vehicle models/brands to choose from.

  • Can I choose the colour of the car?

    Due to ordering and availability constraints, the winner cannot choose the colour of the car. The prize vehicle colour is determined on availability at the time of the draw. However, if the prize car has to come from a factory, the winner may have a choice of colours.

  • Can I choose my own ticket number?

    Unfortunately, you can’t choose your own ticket numbers. All purchased tickets will generally have random numbers allocated for each draw.

  • What other lotteries does Mater offer to support the work of their research and patient care programs?

    Mater offers three other lotteries:

    Mater Prize Home: This lottery raises funds for Mater Mothers’ Hospital through Mater Little Miracles and gives supporters the chance to win a million dollar home, six times per year.

    Mater Cash for Kids: This lottery is limited to only 5,000 tickets and the first prize is $10,000 cash. Funds raised through this lottery contribute to supporting mothers and babies at Mater. Tickets are only $20 each.

  • How and when are the winners notified? And how do I get the results?

    The winners of each Mater lottery receive a phone call as soon as the draw is completed, followed by a letter sent to them 2-3 days after the draw date. The results will be displayed on this website as soon as the draw is completed and also published in the public notices of The Australian (date of publication is displayed in each lottery brochure).

  • When should I receive my VIP tickets?

    Your VIP tickets are processed on the 15th of every month (i.e. February 2016, March 2016…) or the next business day. Once a successful transaction has been completed (including your payment being received) you should receive your email-tickets within five working days. Or, if you choose to receive paper tickets you can expect them to arrive within 10 business days. Please note that our business days are Monday to Friday for ticket processing. 

  • How can I cancel my VIP Club membership?

  • I live outside Queensland, in another Australian state. Can I still purchase tickets?

    Mater Foundation lotteries are open to all Australian residents 18 years of age or older.  Art unions and prize home lotteries are governed by State legislation.  Each state in Australia has its own legislation pertaining to lotteries.  Mater Foundation applies for and hold licences in all states except SA and WA.  We are, therefore, unable to actively promote our lotteries in these states.  If you would like to discuss this further, please call us on 1800 067 066.

  • Who can I contact about responsible gaming?

  • When are the weekly VIP fuel draws drawn?

    The weekly $1,000 fuel draw is drawn on a weekly basis, however due to processing of monthly VIP payments, some of the weekly VIP fuel draws cannot be drawn weekly, which will result in 2 draws occurring in the same week.

  • Why are my ticket numbers higher than the maximum allowed to be sold?

    The number of tickets sold in each lottery game does not exceed the maximum number of tickets we’re allowed to sell. There are a number of sales channels you can purchase lottery tickets from. These include through the mail, from our website, from sales agents, and over the phone. Each sales channel is allocated a range of ticket numbers each lottery. Sometimes there are unsold tickets in a sales channel at the end of the lottery. This is why there will be ticket numbers sold, which are higher than the maximum number of tickets available. All tickets sold are included in the draw, including those which have a higher number than the maximum allowed to be sold.
